Osmotics - Push-Pull Osmotic Pump (PPOP) Technology

Over the last decade, there has been increasing interest in the development of oral osmotic devices in which the active pharmaceutical ingredient can be delivered in a sustained pattern over a long period of time governed by osmotic pressure.

Osmotic Pump Technology

Consists of an inner core containing drug and osmogens, coated with a semipermeable membrane. As the core absorbs water, it expands in volume, which pushes the drug solution out through the delivery ports.

POLYOX™

POLYOX™

POLYOX™ Water-Soluble Resins (NF grades) are non-ionic poly (ethylene oxide) polymers. They are hydrophilic polymers available in a wide range of molecular weights with a history of successful use in extended release applications, including osmotic pump technologies.
