No-Tox® Liquid Inks

Utilizing only ingredients that are listed as direct or indirect food additives by the FDA in 21 CFR, Colorcon formulates inks suitable for use on flexographic and rotogravure presses. No-Tox liquid inks are available in solvent and water-based versions and can be used on paper, foil, vinyls and many treated films. They are ideally suited for printing food package inserts (coupons and other promotions), the inside surface of candy wrappers and labels inside of meat packages. Versions are even available for printing cosmetics like face paints and temporary tattoos. The newest additions to this group are pigmented inkjet fluids for Drop-on-Demand (DOD) & Continuous Ink Jet (CIJ) Printers.

A wide range of colors are available, although exact color matches are not always achievable due to the limited array of acceptable pigments.

No-Tox® Paste Inks

Utilizing only ingredients that are listed as direct or indirect food additives by the FDA in 21 CFR, Colorcon formulates inks suitable for use on sheetfed, webfed (heatset & coldset) and letterpress equipment. Our paste inks are ideally suited for printing direct food contact applications such as food package inserts (coupons and other promotions) fast food trayliners, information flyers placed in pharmaceutical and medical packaging and printable cosmetics such as temporary tattoos.

A wide range of colors are available, although exact color matches are not always achievable due to the limited array of acceptable pigments.

Flexicraft Wide Web

High quality, high gloss, water reducible ink system suitable for a wide variety of packaging films including coated, treated or metallized: polyethylene, polypropylene, cellophane, polyester, foil, glassine, and paper.Formulated for indirect contact with food, drug and medical products.

Flexicraft Narrow Web

High gloss, fast drying waterbased inks idealed for use on standard narrow web flexographic presses for printing a wide variety of packaging and label substrates, including paper, treated films, foils and Tyvek. Formulated for indirect contact with food, drug and medical products.

Flexicraft Form-Fill-Seal

Flexicraft waterbased MED, NPS and RX series inks are specially formulated, low viscosity products for use on flexographic printers integrated into form-fill-seal medical or pharmacutical packaing lines. They are designed to withsatnd all standard ETO, steam and radiation sterilization processes.

Edimark® Edible Inks

Edimark inks are specifically designed for printing directly onto edible substrates for pharmaceutical, food, or confectionery applications such as tablets, capsules, cakes, cookies, and chocolate.  The ink series includes solvent and aqueous variations for flexographic, gravure, screen, pad printing, and inkjet technologies. 

We offer a vast range of colorants that meet the regulatory requirements of the market for the products you are developing.  All inks exhibit excellent adhesion and other properties as required for each substrate.

 No-Tox® Medical Device Inks

Developed with ingredients listed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR) as direct or indirect food additives, our highly specialized No-Tox medical device inks are used for form-fill seal in-line package printing on Tyvek® packaging, product identifications, markings on products such as syringes, pipettes or catheters, and many other applications that directly or indirectly come in contact with the medical device.

Our medical device inks comply with all pertinent FDA and EU regulations as well as CONEG heavy metal restrictions.

Food-Contact/Packaging

Developed with ingredients listed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR) as direct or indirect food additives, ink systems exist all major non-energy curing (i.e. UV or RB) printing processes. As such, the materials printed by these inks can be placed into direct contact with foods. Additionally, inks and coatings can be designed to meet EU food contact compliance requirements as well.  We offer compliant inks for all printing processes and can customize these products to meet your particular needs.

Pharmaceutical Printing Inks

Our highly specialized No-Tox pharmaceutical inks are used
for solid oral dose (SOD) blister packs, tablet bottle seals, desiccants, tablet product identifications, transdermal patches and many other applications that directly or indirectly come in contact with the drug.

A key component in the selection of printing inks for pharmaceutical applications is the potential for contamination of the tablet or other solid oral dosage form through direct or indirect contact with the ink. All No-Tox printing inks are manufactured exclusively from FDA or E.U. compliant components in an FDA registered, dedicated current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) facility, using cGMP practices.

Specialty Products

Colorcon No-Tox Products manufactures regulated printing inks backed by unmatched technical capabilities and service. Our temporary tattoo inks ensure the highest degree of safety, quality and performance available. This full color range ink series is formulated entirely from colorants suitable for cosmetic use and produce high quality transfers. They can be applied using silk screen, sheetfed offset, flexographic or gravure processes. Typically, these tattoos will wear well for several days and can be removed with rubbing alcohol, cold cream or baby oil. The non-toxicity of these inks is guaranteed in writing.

InkJet Inks

Colorcon No-Tox offers digital inks for edible applications as well as applications where contact with food, medical, and pharmaceutical products is anticipated.  We have two distinct product lines to satisfy all of your regulatory compliant Inkjet needs.

No-Tox Inkjet inks are designed for printing onto food inserts and packages, medical devices, medical inserts and packages, and pharmaceutical inserts and packages. 

Edimark Inkjet inks are specifically designed for jet printing directly onto items such as tablets, capsules, cakes, cookies, chocolates, and various other edible substrates for pharmaceutical, food, and confectionary applications.  Many of our edible products are Kosher Certified.

Our inks can be formulated for piezoelectric, thermal inkjet, or continuous inkjet printing technologies.  We work with our customers to provide custom formulas for their specific print-head and application.

We offer solvent and aqueous variations with good color and gloss, as well as excellent water, scratch and smear resistance.

Metal Decorating Applications

Our highly specialized No-Tox inks are used for a variety of direct and indirect food contact packaging applications for metal deco including printing on the inside surface of beverage bottle crowns, food can lidding, mint containers and many other metal deco applications.
