One is based on a polymer granulation binder, PVP, in combination with a super disintegrant, croscarmellose sodium (CCS). This formulation was developed external to Colorcon. The other formulation utilized partially pregelatinized maize starch, Starch 1500, as both the binder and the disintegrant.

Results indicate PEO stability can be affected by the type of filler used in the formulation.
