Opadry® NS products from Colorcon are specifically designed to meet the needs of the North American dietary supplement market.* These fully-formulated, one-step customized coating systems combine polymer, plasticizer and if desired, pigments, as complete, dry concentrates. Base polymers include tapioca dextrin, cellulose gum, and others approved for use in dietary supplements.
Opadry NS formulations are high-solid, low-viscosity solutions that are fast to reconstitute, reduce processing times, and are easy to apply. These specialty film coatings provide good adhesion which eliminates product defects -- even on dark and fragile herbal product cores or tablets that need crisp logo definition.
To meet your individual color needs, we offer formulations with dyes, oxide or natural color pigments. The only limits to the pigment options offered are the specific color regulations imposed in the region where your product will be sold. Or, if your goal is to improve the tablet appearance of your natural products by simply adding a clear coat, Opadry NS formulations offer the glossy, natural appearance you need.
All Opadry NS formulations are made from food approved; label-friendly raw materials with ingredients acceptable for use on dietary supplements in North America. Identity Preserved (IP) and non-GMO OpadryNS versions are also available for situations where they are needed.
