A one-of-a-kind reference tool for pharmaceutical formulators
This easy-to-use guide is designed to help solid oral dosage product development teams select colors for their film-coated tablets.
The guide features an expanded array of globally acceptable colors as well and a summary of the different types of pigments - Lakes, synthetic iron oxides and natural colorants - commonly used in film coating formulas. Color selections can be narrowed based on the highest probability of regulatory acceptance in global or regional target markets by using one of the three color selectors included with each Guide.
EU + North America Color Selector - reveals colors that are generally acceptable for pharmaceutical applications in Europe and North America.
JP + EU + North America Color Selector - useful for selecting colors generally acceptable for pharmaceutical applications in Japan, Europe and North America.
Iron Oxide Color Selector - this new selector, added in July 2008, reveals a starting range of colors within the color wheel that are developed with iron oxide pigments only.
The range of colors shown by using any of the three selectors is only a small sampling of the available options. Additional shades can be developed to meet your individual needs.
Or, to find out more about Colorcon's Regulatory Department which can provide in-depth assessments of color selections visit our on-line information request service page. Colorcon's Global Regulatory Group can help evaluate film coating formula options by calculating the maximum daily intake of specific iron oxide pigments with consideration to dosing regiment and total weight gain of the coating system.
